Partner / Asia Operations Director
Chiming Lin received his Bachelor of Science degree in Interior Design at Chung Yuan University in Taiwan. He then received his Master of Fine Arts degree in architectural lighting design at Parsons The New School in New York City, where he was a Studio Design Assistant.
Mr. Lin worked for several lighting design firms in New York City, including Brandston Partnership Inc. before moving to Taiwan to establish a branch office there, and eventually founding OLDC, Inc. By the time that Brandston Partnership’s work in China reached a critical mass, Mr. Lin was the obvious choice to head the China portion of that operation. Currently he is our Asia Operations Director for Shanghai, Beijing, Chengdu, Shenzhen and Singapore offices.
He has worked on numerous projects of various types including mixed-use, high-rise tower, museum, transportation, retail and hospitality. Well-known projects include Palace Museum in Taipei, Formosa MRT Station in Kaohsiung, Raffles City in Chongqing, Wheelock Square in Shanghai, Summer Palace in Beijing, Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Guangzhou, W Hotel in Jordan and Rolex Tower in Dubai.
Mr. Lin is a member of the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America, the council member of China Illuminating Engineering Society, a registered 1st class senior lighting designer in China and a registered interior designer in Taiwan. He is also a lighting instructor at several universities and institutions since 1996. His work has won many international design awards, including 1 International Illumination Design Award (IIDA) special citation, 7 IIDA awards of merit, 1 IES Lumen Feltman Award and 2 China illuminating Society (CIES) first prize design awards.
